What is salary benchmarking?

Salary benchmarking (or compensation benchmarking) compares what you pay for a role with what similar employers pay for a similar role in the same city. It tells you whether an offer or pay band sits below, at or above the market, usually expressed as percentiles: P25, the median (P50) and P75.

How our salary data stays current

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Mercer, Aon or WTW surveys?

Survey houses publish annual, self-reported data from a limited sample. Kynoa combines five source types (EPFO records, job postings, consented offer letters, public filings and employee reports), refreshes weekly and cross-checks them.

How do you handle foreign-currency pay?

All pay is converted to rupees using a purchasing-power-adjusted rate, updated daily. For multi-country teams we show location-adjusted equivalents.

Can I benchmark against specific companies?

Yes, for listed companies and private companies where we have enough data (usually Series B and later). Results are aggregated so no individual can be identified.

How do you value ESOPs at private companies?

We combine fair-market valuations from the latest funding round, secondary-market data and probability-weighted outcomes. Each valuation shows a confidence range and a stage-based risk discount.

What size of company is this for?

The enterprise platform is built for organisations with 200 or more employees. If you are smaller, book a call and we will suggest the right option.
